Nokia's latest contribution to the Indian Mobile Phone market is the N900.
It was up for sale in major Indian cities from yesterday.
The n900 is a mibile internet device and smartphone, based on the Maemo platform. It runs the Maemo 5 Linux as the basic Operating System. N900 is the first maemo device to provide phone functionalities.
It runs on a 600 MHz Cortex A8 processor and also has a PowerVR SGX 530 GPU that supports OpenGL ES 2.0 for graphics applications, and digital signal processors running at 430 MHz for the camera, telephony and data transmission applications.It has a 256 MB RAM and a storage space of 32 GB.
The N900 has a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. The screen is 3.5 inch resistive touchscreen, with a resolution of 800x480. It holds a 5 MegaPixel Primary camera and a 0.3 MegaPixel Secondary camera for video calls.
The phone was originally launched in November 11, 2009 in United States and 9 European Countries.
And finally now it is in India as well. The price for this little (or rather large) phone is Rs 30,639.
